Glorious GPBT Nebula V2 vs Synth Sunrise: Which Keycap Set Fits Your Setup?

Quick Answer

Choose the Glorious GPBT Nebula V2 if you want a cosmic, vibrant look that stands out. Choose the Synth Sunrise if you prefer a warm, retro-inspired palette. Both are thick PBT sets with durable dye-sublimated legends, so your choice comes down to color scheme and how it fits your setup.

Keycaps are the most visible part of your mechanical keyboard, and swapping them is one of the easiest ways to change the entire feel of your setup. When you're torn between two Glorious GPBT sets, the decision often comes down to color scheme and how it matches your desk, peripherals, and personal style.

In this comparison, we pit the Glorious GPBT Nebula V2 against the Synth Sunrise set. We'll look at the supplied facts about materials, durability, and compatibility so you can make a confident choice without guesswork.

Color Scheme and Aesthetic

The Glorious GPBT Nebula V2 keycaps are described as 'galactic-themed' with a 'vibrant, cosmic look.' If your setup features dark tones, RGB lighting, or space-inspired decor, this set can tie everything together. The deep blues and purples evoke a night-sky vibe that pairs well with glowing peripherals.

The Synth Sunrise set, while not detailed in our records, is presumably named for a warm, retro synthwave palette. If you prefer sunset oranges, pinks, and purples, it can bring a nostalgic, energetic feel to your desk. Without official color details, we can't confirm exact shades, so check the product images before buying.

• Consider your desk mat, mouse, and monitor stand colors when choosing a keycap palette.

Material and Durability

Both the Nebula V2 and Synth Sunrise are part of the Glorious GPBT line, which uses thick PBT polymer. PBT resists the shiny spots that develop on ABS plastic after heavy use, and it maintains a matte finish over time. This makes either set a solid investment for daily typing or gaming.

The Nebula V2 is explicitly 'designed for gamers who value both style and performance,' with a 'durable, textured feel.' The Synth Sunrise set, like other GPBT sets, is also PBT and should offer similar longevity, though our records don't specify its texture. If texture is critical, you may want to look for hands-on reviews.

• PBT keycaps are more resistant to wear than ABS, so they keep their look longer.

Compatibility and Fit

The Nebula V2 is compatible with all Glorious GMMK keyboards and mechanical keyboards with standard bottom rows. The Synth Sunrise set is also a GPBT set, so it likely shares the same compatibility, but our records don't explicitly confirm it. If you have a non-standard layout, double-check the product description.

Both sets use standard MX-style stems, which fit most mechanical switches. If you're building a custom board, make sure your keyboard has a standard bottom row to avoid missing keycaps. For GMMK owners, either set should drop in without issues.

• Check your keyboard's bottom row layout (e.g., 6.25u spacebar, 1.25u modifiers) before ordering.

The Trade-Off: Style vs. Versatility

• Nebula V2's cosmic look: The vibrant, galactic color scheme is eye-catching but may clash with minimalist or warm-toned setups. It's a bold statement that works best with dark or RGB-heavy themes. Choose Nebula V2 if you want a standout, space-inspired aesthetic.
• Synth Sunrise's retro vibe: The warm sunset palette is more nostalgic and can blend with a variety of desk setups, but it may not be as striking in a dark, moody battlestation. Choose Synth Sunrise if you prefer a warmer, more versatile color scheme.
• PBT durability in both: Both sets are thick PBT, so they resist shine and maintain a matte finish. The Nebula V2's textured feel is confirmed, while the Synth Sunrise's texture is unconfirmed. If texture is a priority, Nebula V2 has a documented advantage.
